Behind the Scenes: Wild Wardrobe of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday 2

‘It’s going to be a really Freaky Friday. Much freakier than you would expect.’

We’ve been waiting at the edge of our seats for more information about the movie after the news of the Freaky Friday sequel was announced. And we got our wish. On Thursday, July 18, new photos emerged of the duo filming the long-awaited sequel to their hit Disney movie in Hollywood, Calif.

“The Colemans are getting FREAKY again!” 

While off screen, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are getting very freaking hip with their fashion behind the scenes. It looks like they’ve been filming while looking particularly avant-garde.

For those of y’all late to the news, Freaky Friday is a remake of the 1976 Jodie Foster movie and will be getting a sequel Freaky Friday 2. It’s a body-swap comedy, following Tess, a straight-laced psychiatrist mom and Anna, her high school rocker, goth daughter, who end up swapping bodies following a heated fight.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are returning as Tess and Anna Coleman, respectively, from the 2003 classic. The production for the sequel began in June 2024, and all the behind the scenes of the filming have both the returning actresses in all smiles.

They’ve been in great spirits as they continue to shoot for the sequel. In an interview, Lindsay Lohan even opened up about the great time she was having on set. And what else could you expect from those two, they’re absolutely magic together on screen and off them.

“’It’s fantastic,” Lindsay said. “We all have so much fun. It’s so great to have that… you always want to have a good time.” She added that the Halloween actress and her have stayed in touch as really great friends.

A Glimpse of the Fashion Behind the Scenes

In the recently released pictures from the sets it looked like they were filming some sort of formal event. The party saw Lohan wearing a ball gown ensemble complete with black gloves. The ensemble included a red bodice top paired with an enormous ruffled brown skirt and platform block heels. 

While Curtis, on the other hand, had a whole different vibe going with her denim bodysuit, corset waist belt and metallic, pointed heels. She paired the outfit with a chrome heart-shaped purse.

Are we sure that this is a formal gathering and not a scene from the film instead? That would be gold, though, right?

Another Behind the Scene moment

Lindsay posted a video of their behind the scenes photoshoot and this is what we think about it:

As we see in the picture, Curtis is sitting in front of a trailer door that says Lindsay Lohan, while Lindsay seems to be sitting in front of Curtis’ trailer. Their temperaments also seem to give away the fact that maybe they’ll be switching bodies once again in the sequel, but with a special twist.

Now, what does that mean, you ask? Well…we don’t know too (sorry), on account of the plot being completely under wraps at the moment.

‘Well, I can’t say much, but I am taking guitar lessons and I do have a daughter in the movie,’ The Mean Girls actress said when asked about the story.

To join this already star-studded cast is Mark Hammon as Tess’ fiance, and Chad Michael Murray who is returning as Anna’s boyfriend (husband now?) Jake. Newcomers include Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Sophia Hammons and Julia Butter who is presumably playing Anna’s daughter.
Freaky Friday 2 will be hitting the theaters next year, 2025.
