How Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Keep the Spark Alive in 2024

And their philosophy of trolling each other for staying together.

A Hollywood Love Story for the Ages

What’s that one celebrity couple that comes to mind first when the topic is canon but endgame couples in Hollywood? We don’t know about you, but for us, it’s got to be them—Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Because who wouldn’t be crazy about their constant banter that never fails to make the sparks fly.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have accomplished the greatest feat in Hollywood, their 10 years of marriage. Reynolds spoke to People about how their relationship has endured in a joint interview with Hugh Jackman

“I think the secret sauce to a long-lasting Hollywood friendship is not too dissimilar to having a partner or a marriage,” Reynolds said. “As I’m rooting for her, I know she’s rooting for me, and it’s why we’re so connected.”

Fans Are Obsessed With Their Banter

The couple is known for their social media back-and-forth that always makes us laugh. And feel a little envious of their relationship, tbh. Fans are crazy about their banter and have gone as far as to say that, “I will stop believing in love if Blake and Ryan break up,” which perfectly mirrors our sentiment.

Reynolds has poked fun at his wife by posting her embarrassing photos, cropping her out pictures and wishing other people on her birthday. The Gossip Girl star, for her part, has thrown her husband under the bus for his Wrexham game meltdown, and even made him her guinea pig for her beverage brand, Betty Buzz.

Blake (jokingly) admitted she keeps secrets from Ryan

In May 2018, Reynolds prodded his wife to share the plot of A Simple Favor on Twitter, now X, and Blake, not falling for it, replied to his tweet,

“Oh darling, of all the secrets I’m keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns, trust me.”

When Ryan posted (supposedly) embarrassing pictures of his wife on social media

Ryan Reynold is not really Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively’s husband if he hasn’t poked fun at her on her birthday. The Deadpool actor celebrated his wife’s 32nd birthday in August 2019 by posting an Instagram post with photos in which she has her eyes closed or is cropped out of the frame.

Blake Reveals Her four favourite Canadian things and Ryan isn’t one of them

Guess what Blake’s “favourite things in the world” are? Not Ryan, that’s for sure. Blake shared in December 2020 that four of her favourite things come from Vancouver, Canada, which is her husband’s hometown. The first three things were desserts from the city, including ice cream, doughnuts and pie.

She revealed the fourth one alongside the photo of cake, cookies and more from Ask for Luigi restaurant, writing,

“And the 4th of course is @askforluigi…Who did you think I was gonna say??”

Reynolds calling everyone ‘beautiful, considerate and loving people,’ except Blake

Need we say any more?

Ryan’s Wrexham Game Meltdown broadcasted live

One of their most recent banter fights happened in January 2023, when Blake captioned an Instagram story:

“I bought ESPN+ today just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live. Worth it,” sharing a screenshot of the game with Reynolds in the stands during a Wrexham FC match.

Deadpool and Wolverine gets a new title: “Boys Gone Wild: A Deadpool & Wolverine Story.”

We got to witness another such moment very recently when Blake Lively hilariously called out Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for their ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ press tour antics.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been promoting their film in Asia and made an appearance at South Korea’s 2024 Waterbomb Festival in Seoul. And a water fight ensued, naturally, while they were goofing off on stage.

“Seemingly” not happy with her husband’s antics, Lively teased his work ethic with a hilarious post via her Instagram Story.

Alongside a video of Reynolds and Jackman at the festival, she wrote

“When he tells you he’s going to work and then you see him on MTV Spring Break.”

And that’s where the new title for the movie came from: Blake came up with the genius new title: “Boys Gone Wild: A Deadpool & Wolverine Story.

To end this, let’s recap the things we learned from their relationship:

  1. All’s fair in love and social media wars.
  2. Loving someone deeply gives you the courage…to troll each other on social media.
  3. Banter is romantic.
